Is There Really A Global Information Network Scam Or Not?
Saturday, September 4th, 2010It seems some folks are wondering about a potential Global Information Network scam and I thought I’d take a quick stab at this topic.
One of the first questions regarding the Global Information Network (GIN) I’ve seen brought up is whether GIN is a network marketing business venture. Since the answer to this question is yes, I’ve noticed that some people are labeling the company some sort of scam because of this.
This is interesting to me because of the fact that I know how prevalent MLM is in today’s day and age. Are Pre-Paid Legal, GeneWize, Amway, Global Resorts, etc all scams, too, just because they are structured as MLM entities?
So is MLM simply a big scam, taking into account that some network marketers make absolutely nothing while others have gotten rich? It seems to me that the folks calling network marketing a scam are the same folks who couldn’t make it work or simply haven’t put quality research time into the business model.
This leads me to believe that anyone saying there’s a Global Information Network scam because it’s a network marketing opportunity is suspect…
Here’s a 2nd discussion topic about GIN I see…that you have to put up the $1000 startup fee before you can find out the comp plan details.
The funny thing to me about this is that one can access the exact pay plan for free by signing up as an affiliate.
This isn’t “secretive” or out of the ordinary since joining affiliate programs is commonplace for Internet marketers. Investigating a compensation plan in this manner seems very “unscammy” (is that even a word?) to me.
What appears to be shady in my eyes is labeling GIN a scam before accessing (for free) the compensation plan and actually reading it.
Now let’s look at the 3rd thing about GIN I’ve seen…that there’s a problem because GIN is not selling physical products, but information instead.
Again, this seems absurd to me. Online marketing revolves around offering information for sale. As people like Bob Proctor, Yanik Silver, Mike Dillard, Jonathan Budd, Perry Marshall, Anthony Marshall make their fortunes, what do you suppose they are selling?
Ahem… um… information? A prize for you, my friend. Information!
So, there is some grand Global Information Network scam because they’re selling information? My opinion is that this is flawed thinking.
Upon further research and investigation, it’s revealed that GIN is selling information designed to increase a person’s leadership skills, personal growth skills, business skills, marketing skills, how to prosper in a volatile economy, etc. Seems like pretty relevant and needed 21st Century information to me.
I’m sure you’re reading this because you’re wondering whether you should join the Global Information Network. This company appears to be another solid one in the network marketing industry.
The real question for today is this…when it comes to marketing successfully, whether it be in GIN or some other opp, how much do you know about it? How much do you know about correctly marketing through channels such as Adwords, viral lists, articles, video marketing, social media, etc?
As fast as humanly possible, I’d get to learning all that material if I were you
